Moss

Whistle lake is rife with moss, in all shapes, colors and textures. I made up my own names for them. Why not?

Mouse eye view of umbrella moss.

Mouse bed moss.

Old mouse beard.

Shower moss.

Green

This is Skagit River green. It is really this clear and this color. I wonder what this color would taste like.

Spring is peeking out. The scent of cottonwood wafts in with the breeze, as the leaves begin to open. Aahh, yes, long awaited spring.

Same Frame

Breathing the clouds once again and color pops out of the gray.

The land where rain falls in the sky, but often disappears before it reaches the ground.

Drops

These drops have begged a picture for weeks now. What fascinates me so much about them?

Raindrops/cloudrops on Madrona branch.

A picture taken with little thought, it jumped out at me when I put it on the computer. What do I like so much about this one? Its cool, its crazy, but its not frozen.

From Inside

In the Pacific Northwest, we know what the weather from inside a cloud is like. Water sticks to everything it can. Even people drip with it.

We breath from the earth's lungs and they feel like our own.

From Above

This is Ballard Locks in Seattle, from above of course. Everything looks wildly different from the sky. Patterns become more obvious.

Most things look quieter and more peaceful, even the Golden Gate bridge and surroundings. I begin to imagine how the world was 100 or 200 years ago.

The Skagit Flats in north Puget Sound looks so glorious in the sun, it begs to be explored. How far back in time would I have to go to walk as far as I wanted without running into a man made barrier?

Boats & Planes

Seattle has such changeable weather. These two photos were taken about an hour apart.
This is a sky that beckons.
